Today I was pondering why many people only say they like one genre/style of music. I have a eclectic taste and when people look at my CD/LP/MP3 collection I always have the same conversation...
"Dude, you have [insert offending music]?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"I like it."
"Dude, they suck!"
Usually after that exchange I sneak some of the offending genre/artists music into the play list I have going. People either do not even notice when it plays or more often something amazing happens...
"Who is this? I kinda like it."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah it sounds cool."
"This is [insert music that sucked 30 minutes ago]"
"Really? I haven't heard this."
The music collections of the people I know are changing. They are picking up jazz and classic soul albums when they only listened to punk a few years ago. The only problem is that I have converted my friends already. I can not stop there. It is your turn Internet! Welcome to "Dude, Your Music Sucks!".
